Peace

That's what I'm feeling right now. My two-year-old son has been quite strong-willed lately, especially at bedtime. Got him to bed early tonight and I'm feelin good.

I've got a lot of work ahead of me in the next couple weeks, but I'm looking forward to getting settled in down in Alachua.

Just had to share a couple more of sweet little baby O.

This was the same gown his big sis was brought home from the hospital in.

Baby O

My good friend had a baby boy recently and I had the pleasure of photographing him at his home while he was only three days old. He did not like being naked, but with the heater on full blast, he lulled himself to sleep for long enough stretches to get some great shots.

I am just starting to get through these, but these are a couple of my favorites so far.

Congrats you guys on your beautiful baby boy and thanks for letting me take his photos! More to come.

Farewell Knoxvegas

I've been putting this off, but I'm sad to announce that my family and I will be moving back to Gainesville, Fl at the beginning of November. It's bittersweet. I'm happy to be getting back closer to my family, however I do love Knoxville. The weather is awesome, the mountains are gorgeous.

I also will possibly be traveling up to Knoxville here and there for sessions. If a group of five or more people are interested in a session once I have moved, please let me know and I will be happy to travel up.

Thanks to all the great people I have met and worked with in my time here!

I am currently no longer scheduling sessions in Knoxville. I've got several sessions to share, so more posts to come soon!

Seeing triple

I met these beautiful sisters at a park last week and had fun trying to keep up with them! Their mom won the session at the Secret Safe Place of TN's annual Lifesaver Luau. The weather has been awesome, and that day was no exception. They were great little models!

Fresh

I had the pleasure of taking miss K's newborn photos today. Just six days old, she was still nice and squishy and sleepy.

She is a little doll. A big thanks to her mommy and daddy for allowing her to be my model. I absolutely love newborns.

Holiday updates

Yes, yes, I know it is completely insane to already be thinking about this year's holiday season. Summer's not even officially over yet! But, as the years go by, I'm learning that planning ahead makes everything go a little smoother and more enjoyable.

So, I'm happy to present this year's line of holiday cards. These are available in sizes 4x5.5 or 5x7 in four choices of paper, standard, uv coated, watercolor and linen. Cards are some of my very favorite things to offer and I love seeing the finished product. Imagine what your friends and family will think when get one of these beauties in their mailbox!

(click on the image to enlarge)

I only do a limited amount of sessions each month, so it's not too early to think about booking your holiday session now. The deadline for guaranteed holiday orders this year will be November 15. Labs get very busy this time of year and I want to be sure that you get cards, prints and other items well in time for holiday sending and gift giving.

You can also get a chunk of your holiday shopping done after your session. Prints make great gifts as well as canvases, storyboards, clay ornaments, session albums and coffee table books, to name a few.

Call for models

Mary, the designer behind Baby Britches Boutique, is working feverishly on a new line of clothing which I am excited to be photographing soon. So we need some models! We are looking for boys and girls age 18 months to around 6 years. If you are interested, please send a picture of your little one to babybritches@knology.net or right to me, tinymiracles@mac.com.

Stay tuned for the release of this year's line of holiday cards. I should have these up by tomorrow along with holiday ordering deadlines. I know school's just getting back in and here I am already talking about the holidays, but these things tend to sneak up on you !

a berry-pickin fun time

I got the opportunity to go berry picking last week with my kids and a friend and we had such a great time! I've never gotten the chance to do this before and will definitely be back.

As I was leaving, I saw that they had corn and other veggies in the back as well.

I think the berry season will be ending soon, but you locals should stop by some time. Here's the info: Beau Blue Limonsin - Beauchene's Berry Farm - Blueberries, blackberries
9020 Blue Grass Road, Knoxville, TN, 37922-5924. Phone: (865) 693-4221.

And here's a little knoxnews article I found about the couple and their farm.

I'm fighting a cold and working dilligently to get this family's images up before they go out of town. We had a fun session the other night at the UT botanical gardens and I'm about half way done editing them now. I had to share a couple of my favorites from the first half. Little "A" was such a sweet little guy!

Also, the next Boogie Down Baby is coming up this weekend on Saturday, July 19th at Knoxville Food and Drink. Kiley always arranges such wonderful door prizes, and this time I will also be giving away a complimentary child or family portrait session and 11x14 enlargement. Hope to see you there!

Dancing Queen

It's hard for me to believe I have a four-and-a-half-year-old. I really enjoy my kids getting older to see what kind of little people they are becoming.

Recently, my daughter had her first ballet recital with Angela Floyd School for the Dancer. I couldn't believe how well she did up on that big stage. It was quite a production and I think she really enjoyed it. She was one of the Madeline dolls.

What a superstar. Front and center.

Yesterday I got the chance to redo her formal ballet photos for this year. I thought I would just let the dance school photographer take care of everything and do them, but, go figure, my daughter's file is the one that gets corrupted.

So I had to painstakingly get her hair slicked up (which is pure torture I tell you) and back into her recital outfit. It's always worth all the trouble, though, when I look at the photos.

Celebrating Adoption

I had my first Celebrating Adoption session with the Bradley's earlier this week. The timing worked out perfectly and I got to meet up with them the day before they were moving to Nebraska.

Little "J" was brought home from Liberia last year. He is a little ball of energy who is all boy, yet a little on the cautious side (which is good). He warmed right up to me and we had a great time.

Love this face!

It was so hard to choose which images to blog. It was so great getting to meet you guys and I hope the move went well!

If you have or know someone who has adopted within the past year, please contact me for more information about a complimentary Celebrating Adoption session. I would love to share the joy of this special time in your family's life with you!

Check it

The images from the first Boogie Down Baby are up. Click here to check them out!

Monday, May 26, 2008

My first Boogie Down Baby was so much fun. I love watching little kids dance. They just don't care. I think that's why I love working with kids.

I'm working on getting everything edited and posted by tomorrow. Check Tiny Miracles Photography and Boogie Down Baby for the link. Here are some images from the event.

Attendants, be sure to check your goodie bag for a special deal.

The next one is on Saturday, June 21st. So, be there or be square! (did I just say that?)

On another note, I'm sitting here winding down my Memorial Day. I had grand ideas of a getting a great American flag image with my kids today, but it just didn't happen. But I still wanted to say thanks to everyone who is serving and has served our country. Especially those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. It will not be in vain. God bless America!!

Let's Boogie

I'm excited to be the official photographer for the new monthly family dance party event in Knoxville, Boogie Down Baby!

Moms, dad and the whole family are invited to come down to Knoxville Food and Drink and dance the afternoon away. I'll be there taking pictures of the fun. Food and drinks will be served and kids can take a break in the "boogied out room." Parents can even get a free massage!

The next dance party is scheduled for Saturday, May 24th from 1-4pm. Check out www.letsboogiedownbaby.com for more details.

Hope to see you there!

Another sneak peek!

Little "A" was a great model for the "babies in bloom" mini sessions that are coming up. I could tell she was thinking, "why am I in this big pot with this silly hat on?" She humored us and did an excellent job, though.

I had to get a couple of her on the fuzzy rug as well. So sweet!

Little Man

I had a great session with little "R" the other day. He sure is a ball of energy! He had me chasing him all over the place!

This one reminds me a of a little traveling salesman.

It's a bird, it's a plane... Here's a super sneak peak of the "little superheroes" mini sessions.

I'm so happy to be getting outdoors lately! I hope this nasty weather that's coming goes away soon.

Sugar and spice and...worms??

What are most little ballerinas doing just before they need to get dressed for class? Mine is out in the mud with her slimy friends.

My daughter had an underground adventure at school today and came home with a pet earthworm. She played outside with it for hours before I finally convinced her that worm needs to be in the dirt and in the ground to be happy. I hope the worm made it through everything she put it through!
